PEUPLES

1989-2005

One book and nine exhibitions
Today, the future of 5,000 peoples and 300 million individuals is at risk. These populations, considered minorities everywhere, are in some cases victims of genocide. Beyond the threat to their unique identity, it is the heritage of all humanity that will suffer greatly from their disappearance.

It is to this precious and fragile diversity that the photographic work of Pierre de Vallombreuse pays homage, who for more than twenty years travelled all continents to share the intimacy of twenty-seven ethnic groups and who, following Edgar Morin, affirms loudly and clearly that the representatives "are our fathers, our mothers... our brothers, our sisters."

This project resulted in a book, Peuples, with a preface by Edgar Morin, published by Editions Flammarion in 2005, and an exhibition at the Musée de l'Homme in 2005-2006 which then traveled in France and abroad.
